Somedays, I feel like I’m dragging my body around from place to place. I wake up tired, well . . let’s be honest, I stay up late reading the night before and just can’t put my book down. That probably doesn’t help. Regardless, I feel like a zombie some days. Do you ever feel like that?
I don’t drink the energy drinks that are so popular, now days. Although my oldest son does. I think they are unhealthy and normally like to choose a more natural route. I do enjoy coffee, black. But I also like to look outside the ‘coffee pot box’ for other natural foods to boost my energy.
BLUE TEA – You ask, what is blue tea? I did too, my friend, so don’t feel bad. A girlfriend introduced me to blue tea a couple of years ago. Since I enjoy tea, I was eager to try it!
Being dehydrated can bring on fatigue. Ok, so can staying up late reading. Add several glasses of red wine with the late night reading and dehydration and fatigue are sure to surface the next day. 😉
What I’ve learned is, Blue Tea, made from the butterfly pea flower, not only hydrates but the antioxidant compounds that give the drink it’s beautiful hue may help protect against the harmful effects of free radicals.
The flower is also considered a memory and intelligence booster. That’s a win-win in my book! At my age, my memory is slowly failing me.
This tea is wonderful either hot or cold and you can compliment the mild earthy taste by adding ginger or lemongrass. You can also add lemon juice, but don’t be alarmed when it turns the tea a shade of purple! I was shocked, but I love the color purple, so that didn’t stop me from drinking it!
